Brian Ward is the Street Angels coordinator for Scarborough which has now been running for over 8 years.

Adrian Moore is the coordinator for Community Angels which has operated for nearly 4 years.

Street Angels and Community Angels are well trained and a church based response to our community's problems and are there for the vulnerable.

Street Angel teams patrol the streets weekend nights from 10pm till 2:30am - interacting with people on the street and in night time venues; responding quickly if someone needs help; providing first aid and liaising with other services if necessary; providing practical support: helping people get a taxi home, contacting friends or family, being a listening ear, chatting with people. Street Angels work in partnership with local organisations: Police & Ambulance services, Council, CCTV, door staff, pub watch etc. Christians on the team will also pray with those people who request it. We have been instrumental in assisting other towns throughout England including one in Spain to set up their own Street Angel projects.

Community Angels operate weekday daytime on a 1-2-1 basis within the community. We are there to care, to listen, to talk and to offer practical help initially for 3-4 months and provide advocacy, and liaise with multi agencies. Referrals are received from the Police, Council, Social Services, Domestic Abuse, Housing Associations and the NHS.

Street Angels and Community Angels are there for the vulnerable, making a positive difference.
